Matt Everitt

photo of Matt Everitt Matt's voice is naturally upbeat, familiar and confident with husky undertones. If you need someone who sounds matey, down to earth and credible look no further.

After a childhood spent watching Queen's 'Rock In Rio' video, Matt decided music was the way forward (as were fifteen minute timpani solos) and following considerable time hanging around Camden in the mid '90s, he joined Menswear - a second division Britpop band of no fixed ability - which got him on Top Of The Pops and paid the bills until a chronic lack of ability caught up with them. Matt became a music journalist, before kicking off his broadcasting career at Xfm in 2003, eventually becoming Head Of Music News and becoming a regular on shows alongside Lauren Laverne, Ian Camfield, Zoë Ball and Shaun Keaveny. While at Xfm Matt also contributed to Sky News, Channel 5, BBC3, MTV and Kerrang! TV, and produced, scripted and presented a series of acclaimed radio documentaries on the ten most significant albums of the past decade. He joined BBC 6 Music to present their music news magazine show The Music Week, and to contribute to the station's Breakfast Show; reuniting him with Shaun Keaveny, where he can still be found, toiling at the rock face of Music News secured only by the crampons of truth. Matt also presents the Music News on Ken Bruce's show on Radio 2, and has appeared on 5Live, News 24, Ents 24 and BBC World.
