Fran studied theatre at Dartington College of Arts. There followed the usual string of stop gap jobs; one of her funniest days work was at a bacon factory and some of the saddest were spent cleaning domestic fire damaged possessions on behalf of an insurance firm. A string of assorted media type jobs ensued: stints acting on stage in Cornwall and Edinburgh, work at a magazine, a theatre company, a radio station and a sound studio in Soho. In 2003 she became a full time voiceover person.
